On Friday, November 6, A2 and paramedics from Events EMS responded to Washington Street for a motor vehicle crash.  Based on the driver's injuries, a helicopter was requested to transport the 73 year old female to a trauma center.  Boston MedFlight 2 transported the patient from the nearby landing zone at 1580 Washington Street to Boston Medical Center.

On Monday, November 2, A2 and paramedics from Events EMS responded to Amy Lane for a tree worker who had fallen out of a bucket truck.  Based on his injuries, a helicopter was requested to transport the 47 year old male to a trauma center.  Boston MedFlight 2 transported the patient from the landing zone at 1580 Washington Street to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

At a brief ceremony before the Fire Department's regularly scheduled training meeting on July 20, Fire Chief Michael Cassidy presented Retired Deputy Chief Donald Kramer with a plaque recognizing his fifty years of service with the department.  The Deputy retired in January 2008, after five decades of service to the department.  Prior to his appointment as Deputy Chief, Kramer had served as Captain of the Ladder company; therefore the ceremony was held in front of the 1983 Maxim ladder truck.  In addition to current members of the Fire Department and Explorer Post, also present at the ceremony were Town Administrator Paul LeBeau, Retired Chief Raymond Moloney, and Retired Deputy Chief Joseph Gallerani. Following a June 20, 2009 bicycle crash on Washington Street, the Holliston Fire Department Ambulance and Events EMS paramedics transported a patient to a landing zone.  The patient was transported by Boston MedFlight to a trauma center in Boston. [Photos by Dick Bartlett]

Following a June 12, 2009 motor vehicle crash on Washington Street, the Holliston Fire Department Ambulance and Events EMS paramedics transported a patient to Milford Regional Medical Center.  Rescue 1 and Engine 3 had also been dispatched to gain access to the patient with the Jaws-of-Life extrication tool, but were cancelled prior to their arrival.

Following a May 5, 2009 motor vehicle crash on Norfolk Street, the Holliston Fire Department Ambulance and Events EMS paramedics transported a patient to UMass/Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Following a May 2, 2009 motorcycle crash on Highland Street, the Holliston Fire Department requested a helicopter respond to take a patient to a Level I Trauma Center.  MedFlight 2 responded to the landing zone on Washington Street, and care was transferred from the Holliston Ambulance and Events EMS Paramedics, for transport to Mass General Hospital.

Firefighters from Engine 2 and Engine 3 responded to a brush fire on Pleasure Point Road on April 28, 2009.

Firefighters from Ladder 1 and Engine 2 companies responded to Pleasure Point on March 10, 2009 for an animal which had fallen through the ice.  Firefighter Timothy Costello crawled out to the dog on the ice in a cold water rescue suit, and safely returned the dog to his owner. 

On January 9, Fire Chief Michael Cassidy thanks Chris Clancy of Titan Contractors for the donation which made it possible to replace the K-12 Rescue saw used by the Department to cut openings in construction for ventilation.  Shown is the old K-12 (which could no longer be repaired), and the replacement which was purchased with funds donated by Clancy.  Funds received from Allied Waste Services were also used to obtain the storage box and accessories that go with the replacement equipment.
