thumbnails to see larger image. On December 12, the Holliston Fire Department and paramedics from Events EMS responded to Washington and South Streets for a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle. Based on the bicyclist's injuries, a medical helicopter was requested to transport him to a Level I Trauma Center. MedFlight landed at the F.E.M.A. parking lot on Washington Street, and transported the patient to Mass General Hospital in Boston. On December 5, the Holliston Fire Department responded to a chimney fire at a Woodland Street home. Engine 2's crew cleaned out the fireplace, while the Ladder crew checked the chimney and liner from the roof. On November 29, the Holliston Fire Department responded to a dumpster fire on Gorwin Drive. Engine 1's crew was able to quickly extinguish the fire. On Saturday, November 22, the Holliston Fire Department responded to rescue a deer which was stuck on the ice on Houghton's Pond. On August 18, the Holliston Fire Department and Events EMS responded to a pedestrian accident at the intersection of Washington and Central Streets. On May 29, Fire Chief Michael Cassidy presented Vicki Hill with her husband, Firefighter Peter Hill's Patriot Ribbon at a ceremony at the James O. Carey American Legion Post 72 in Ashland. Firefighter Hill was unable to attend the ceremony as he is at Fort Bragg, preparing for an overseas deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Members of the Fire Department marched in the Memorial Day parade (left), and stood in formation at the Town Hall (right) for the speeches. On April 19, the Fire Department and Events EMS paramedics responded to a Bullard Street home for a man who had reportedly fallen fifteen feet from a ladder. Based on the height from which he fell, a helicopter from Boston MedFlight was requested to transport the resident to a trauma center. After transferring the patient to the MedFlight crew at a landing zone secured by Engine 1 at Christ the King Lutheran Church on Central Street, he was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. On March 24, the Fire Department and Milford Regional Medical Center Paramedics responded to Marshall Street for a man who had reportedly fallen twenty feet from a ladder while cutting a tree with a chainsaw. Based on the height from which he fell, a helicopter from Boston MedFlight was requested to transport the Pennsylvania resident to a trauma center. After transferring the patient to the MedFlight crew at a landing zone secured by Engine 4 at the FEMA facility on Washington Street, he was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. On March 19, the Fire Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Central Street. The driver of the vehicle was transported to MetroWest Medical Center, Natick Campus. Engine 4 responded for a fuel leak from the gas tank of the vehicle. On March 19, the Fire Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash and car fire on Prentice Street. The driver of the vehicle was transported to MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham Campus. Engine 4 responded for the vehicle fire, which had been extinguished by a call firefighter prior to the arrival of the Chief and Engine 4. On February 7, the Fire Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Winter Street. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were transported to MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham Campus. On February 8, FF/EMT Angela Lawless instructed a girl scout troup working on their Safety First Patch, familiarizing them with the ambulance and basic splinting. The driver of this vehicle was transported to the hospital, following this rollover on Fiske Street, also on the morning of January 28. There were no reported injuries following this rollover on Oak Street on the morning of January 28. The driver of this vehicle was transported to Milford Regional Medical Center, following this rollover on Norfolk Street on the evening of January 20.
