On Friday, December 16, the Holliston Fire Department responded to a house fire on Gorwin Drive.  The residents got out safely after being alerte
d by their smoke detectors.  The house was a total loss.  There were no injuries.

At 12:52 AM on Saturday, September 10, the Holliston Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Brook Street. Upon arrival of the Holliston Police Department, it was confirmed that it was a house under construction on Mayflower Landing that was fully involved. Crews made an aggressive exterior attack; parts of the frame of the building were already starting to collapse as firefighters used hand lines and master streams to extinguish the fire. Events EMS Ambulance Service also stood by at the scene for the safety of our personnel. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Office of the State Fire Marshal responded to assist with the investigation. At this time, the origin and cause of the fire is undetermined.

 

On Thursday, August 25, the Rescue company used the Jaws of Life to free a horse from a trailer which had been involved in an earlier crash on the highway.

On Tuesday, August 9, the Discovery Channel taped some footage at the Holliston Fire Department for an upcoming segment on dangers being faced by the fire service (such as cancer) and new technologies (such as FireIce®). 

On Thursday, August 4, the Holliston Fire Fire Department stopped by the August session of the Jr. Police Academy being conducted by the Holliston Police Department.

On Thursday, July 28, the Holliston Fire Department stopped by the July session of the Jr. Police Academy being conducted by the Holliston Police Department.  Cadets learned about the fire triangle, fire suppression techniques, the importance of dispatch, our staffing model, and where apparatus is stationed in town.  They also got to spray water from a fire hose on a hot day.

On Tuesday, June 14, the Holliston Fire Department and paramedics from Events EMS responded to a motorcycle crash on Highland Street.  An individual was transported by Boston MedFlight to Mass General Hospital from a landing zone on Summer Street secured by Engines 2 and 4. [Photo by Fred Carnes]

On Friday, March 25, the Holliston Fire Department assisted the Holliston Police Department with a search at Pleasure Point.

  On Tuesday, February 16, the Holliston Fire Department responded to a garage fire on Westfield Drive.  Crews were able to prevent the fire from extending to the attached home. [Photos © HollistonReporter.com]

  On Monday, February 15, the Holliston Fire Department responded to a chimney fire on Cold Spring Road.
