AHA HeartSaver AED CPR (We recommend this course for those in non-healthcare fields)
The
Heartsaver AED course teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat
life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for
adult, child, and infant victims. Extensive practice on mannequins is
covered in this video led course. All standard HeartSaver courses
offered by the Holliston Fire Dept. now include Adult/Infant/Child
Modules and the use of the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). The
Infant section may be omitted for private courses.

Who's this Class For:
All lay
rescuers, such as employees in the workplace, daycare employees,
babysitters, firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards,
camp counselors, bus drivers, life-guards, family members of patients at
high risk for sudden cardiac death (most of us), other lay rescuers, and
those who may have a need to respond to an emergency (all of us!).
Length of Class: 3 – 3.5 hours (depends on number of students).

AHA HealthCare Provider CPR
The
HealthCare Provider Course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for
victims of all ages including recognizing and treating life-threatening
emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child, and
infant victims (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask
device, and oxygen) as well as the use of an automated external
defibrillator (AED). It is intended for participants who provide health
care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital
and out-of-hospital.
Test: Required for completion card
Who's this Class For:
Healthcare
providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical
technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational
therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows or medical
nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, and
other allied health personnel.
Length of Class: Approx 4.5 hours

AAOS First Aid
Video and
lecture based training includes recognition and treatment of seizures,
bleeding and shock, wounds, burns, head and spine injuries, joint and
muscle injuries, sudden illnesses (fainting, diabetic emergencies),
poisoning, cold and heat related emergencies. Focus is on recognition,
scene safety and control, contacting emergency resources and providing
First-Aid prior to the arrival of Emergency resources.

Safety Council Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens
Video and
lecture based training focuses on Universal Body Precautions for the
Healthcare Provider or general public. Recommended for all that are
certified in CPR, First Aid, First Responder, EMT and all other
Healthcare Professionals. Identification of Blood and Airborne
pathogens and the Universal Body Precautions we all should take to avoid
exposure.
